Help for clergy with disaffiliation stress

Some clergy are still struggling with decisions about their future, including whether to “stay or go” in The United Methodist Church. The Holston Conference’s Center for Wellbeing aims to help pastors and lay staff members deal with disaffiliation and other stresses. Annette Spence reports.

Couple lives in church parking lot

For the past 16 weeks, a couple and their dog have been sleeping under the steeple at Cedar Lane United Methodist Church after their car broke down. As the couple sought more permanent housing, the church worked to offer hospitality in all the ways it can.

Worship visuals bless many annual conferences

The Rev. Sarah Slack has created altar settings at the Holston Annual Conference for almost 20 years. On June 5, she preached in front of intertwined circles she envisioned for a “Worship Together” theme.
